As a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO/ANBI), Cosmotonia Foundation is dedicated to supporting Indigenous and local communities while preserving ecosystems.
Our work is centered around the following key activities
Community Dialogue
- We actively engage in continuous dialogue with Indigenous and local communities to understand their needs, aspirations, and traditional ecological knowledge.
- This participatory approach ensures that conservation and development initiatives align with cultural values and local realities, empowering communities to make informed decisions about their land and future.

Co-Creation Workshops
- Collaboration is at the heart of our approach. Through interactive workshops, we integrate Indigenous ecological knowledge with sustainable innovations.
- These sessions enhance traditional agroforestry practices, improve resource management, and co-develop value-added products.
- By blending ancestral wisdom with modern techniques, we help local communities create sustainable solutions that foster economic resilience and cultural preservation.
Local Value Addition
- We support communities in unlocking the full potential of their natural resources by promoting sustainable processing methods.
- Traditional medicinal plants are refined into high-quality products through improved drying, grinding, and preservation techniques.
- These efforts extend the shelf life of valuable plants and open new opportunities for ethical trade while maintaining deep respect for Indigenous traditions and the environment.

Agroforestry & Ecosystem Restoration
- We promote traditional land management systems, which enhance biodiversity conservation and sustainable land management.
- By encouraging crop diversification, soil enrichment, and the integration of nitrogen-fixing plants, we support ecosystem resilience.
- Our initiatives also include reforestation and sustainable harvesting practices that contribute to climate change adaptation and environmental regeneration.
“We support communities whose ways of life are deeply rooted in their cosmology—an understanding of the interconnectedness of all living beings. Their traditions emphasize balance, respect for nature, and the sustainable stewardship of the environment. By honoring and upholding these worldviews, we contribute to a future where Indigenous knowledge continues to guide conservation and sustainability.”
